Visa Geolocation Mobile Confirmation

Beginning in April 2015, Visa card issuers in the U.S. will be able to offer their cardholders a new fraud fighting tool using a location-tracking module embedded in a  participating issuer’s mobile banking app. The app was developed by Finsphere. It reports movement of a phone’s location outside the cardholder’s home area. Visa can also tap into Finsphere’s geospatial analysis service, which can protect against location spoofing by fraudsters. The analysis can match a phone to the merchant location.
