Thales to Acquire Gemalto

Thales, which is based in France, will pay $5.86 billion (4.80 bil. euros) in cash for Netherlands-based Gemalto, the largest payment card manufacturer in the world. Thales is a group of companies whose interests include aeronautics, space, ground transportation, defense, and security.
